The scariest app on a smartphone - TruCaller
Completed six months now, without a smartphone.
I realise that the scariest application which I don't have is TrueCaller.
Barely a month since I used a new mobile phone connection, and people can already find me on TruCaller.
It just means that there are that many users across the world using TrueCaller.
That means that TrueCaller has access to that many phone books across the world.
In other words, TrueCaller is building the largest database of phone numbers in the world.
If they are able to track the location, then they can identify callers by location and hence their databases by location.
If they can identify your location and your name, then they can easily find your social media profile.
If they can match your social media profile with the number, then they provide details on any person throughout the world, for a price to the buyer.
Another issue, is that if Truecaller starts tracking calls made to and from various parties, it will be able to identify big data patterns between callers, thus identifying boss, girlfriend, wife and even possibly mistresses, using the additional parameter of time.
