Why Whatsapp Still Sucks!, and What you can do about it!
It's been six years since I first wrote a post on Why Whatsapp Sucks around six years back.
So what are the issues currently with Whatsapp?
- Posting images with text: If you post an image along with text, which might even have a hyperlink, then the link is lost and the focus is only on the picture. Then when you try to forward, only the picture is forwarded, and the text and relevant links are stripped away. The only option is to create blog pages or web page links, where Whatsapp will show a thumbnail image along with a small summary text.
- Searching for content in Whatsapp: Now there is a new search window where you can choose the type of content you are looking for in your Whatsapp client.
- Long posts on Whatsapp not readable: so it is better to create a blog link, and use that to increase the traffic, across multiple Whatsapp groups.
- No analytics on Whatsapp: With Whatsapp, is that you don't get analytics on the response to posts, unless you use a blog.
- Make text bold on Desktop Whatsapp messenger: works on the Whatsapp desktop messenger as well, no one knows. Just use "*"before and after your text, and it will appear bold. Just copy *bold* into Whatsapp and see what happens.
- Italicise text on Desktop Whatsapp messenger: The new option for making italics in Whatsapp, no one knows , by using "_" before and after your text. Just copy _italics_ in Whatsapp and see what happens.
- Making better use of Whatsapp groups: The biggest problem in Whatsapp, is that most of the content is stuck in the Whatsapp groups, which means that Google is not able to search and show this content. That's why it is better to write the content in a blog and then link it in a Whatsapp group.
