Understanding and Implementing Technology Platforms
When I first joined the mobile software industry in 2003, the CEO told me "If you can understand mobile network software, you can understand any software in the world, e.g. banking software is based on the banking processes, which is a normal day to day process, but mobile network software is based on mobile networks, which is another technology in itself".
These fine words stick with me today, as the technologies which were created for the mobile network, are being implemented across various enterprise sectors such as:
- Active Directory:RADIUS, DIAMETER and AAA(Authentication, Authorisation and Accounting), are being used today in various enterprises, to safeguard customer data.
- Mobile chat: What was used by mobile subscribers is now being used across enterprises, as a suitable alternative to email.
- Push to Talk: What started as a Walkie Talkie service, became a broadcast group among friends and today is used for families to communicate across various countries and timezones.
